Help File Library: Installing Diamond MX300 Vortex Drivers

Written By: Mike Zywiec

This is how I got my Diamond Monster Sound MX300 to work in Linux.

  1. Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/aureal and then click on drivers and download the driver.
This link provides information on these drivers

    Direct download driver page

  2. Untar the file by typing
    tar xzf <filename
    of driver>

  3. Change directory to the new directory created by un-tarring the file by typing
    cd <name of directory created>

  4. If you have a Vortex 2-based card, type
    make install

You should not have to restart your machine.
