Azureus startup issue

I started getting this error after running Azureus for a good 4 months and no issues. Suddenly, it wouldn't start. SO I reinstalled my OS (ArchLinux) and I am getting the exact same error (this is from the debug log):

9:08:47] DEBUG::Fri Jun 17 09:08:47 EDT 2005

If anyone can help that would be awesome.

"Network is unreachable"

I have never used Azureus, however I'm guessing this is your problem. Is there a firewall between the bittorrent client, and the internet? Not sure if this is on your home network or not, but I have heard of some universities that are blocking bittorrent.

Also the network unreachable could also be caused by a routing problem. Is this computer able to access the internet in other ways?

Could it be just one seed that is having the problem?

Thanks for responding

Nope, I don't have a firewall or router (I am risky), I don't have any NAT errors and I am connected to the internet.

I connect using an ADSL PPPoE connection by Verizon and have used this ocnnection many times before with Azureus.

Thanks,
Brian

Make sure that the loopback network interface is up and running. You can manually do that by:
1. open a console & become root
2. ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1 up

I am wondering if somehow localhost got kicked out of the startup sequence.
Or the port Azureus is trying to bind to (usually 6881) is blocked by another program.
