Red Hat 9, SuSE 8.2 Linux Boxed Sets Now $49.99????

I just went to CompUSA and noticed an increase of these boxed sets (Red Hat 9, SuSE 8.2 ) by ten (10) dollars $US. This was a pleasant surprise...was anyone else aware of the increase. :rolleyes:

You must be talking about the minimal SuSE 8.2 Personal in the blue box -and that is a ripoff at $49 - the Professional is going for $79

Fry's Has SuSE 8.2 at $39 (Personal) and $79 (Professional), but if you go to SuSE online you can get the full Professional version -less support and 1 manual- as an "Upgrade" for $49... shipping extra

I picked up RH9 at Fry's for $40. Maybe you need to find somewhere else to shop.

I did the same at CompUSA, Red Hat 9 was $39.99 US and then a week or two later there was a $10 US rebate and now it is $49.99 US. I'm going to check Fry's and see what there prices are. CompUSA is usually comparitively competitive on these items.

Last I was there CompUSA will price match any competitor -you can kind of force them to drop the price.

Does Fry's have some sort of website similar to CompUSA which displays all their products along with their prices? I searched for Fry's and came acrossed its website, but I live in Virginial so I don't think I'll be shopping there anytime soon. I'll keep that in mind about the price matching.

yes they do...but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I think it's with outpost or somethin'....go to their site and you should be able to find the online store

Considering RH9 is only $40 even if you order it direct from Redhat, I'd say anybody charging more than that is blatantly trying to screw people.
