Hey everyone, I've been working on my MUD, and in order to hire coders, I'm going to need to create an ftp/MUD server for my Linux. I'm currently using Mandrake 7.0 and will be soon using Redhat 9.0 Pro. My question is more in detail than "How do I do it?" Do I have to create an FTP server first, and then just have the ppl connect to my computer using their telnet straight to my IP address and the port? I'm not quite sure how to go about it.
If you know anything about that, as I'm sure that in order to access that, I'm going to have to create a "shell" for ppl to get into (i.e.- an FTP server), but after it's done, should it just run on my default port?
As far as I know, that's how it should work... b/c when I do that, then ppl will have to be able to access my Linux server and be able to run processes, etc. If you have any info on this, please let me know.

P.S.- I'm not going to be doing this for fun. Mainly, it will be used for personal use as well to learn how to better myself at C Programming. I'm sorry, but the "Learn C++ in 24 hours" book doesn't teach you that much...
