Iiiiiiiiiiii downloaded the win32 codecs,,,iiiiii untared them,,,,,,,,iiiiiiii placed them in usr/lib...aaaaand of course mplayer gave me a video out error. I uninstalled it and installed it again because I read that during installation mplayer searches for the codecs,,,and the error was the same...wow big suprose there.

Just a simple .avi file man. Thats what I wanna see....just a simple .avi file.

If you ask me. The kernel is great, stability is great, as a server the penguin is awesome, programming enviroment is awesome,,,,,,,but, just a simple .avi file man.
Thats all.......this is getting fustrating to no end. Spending time (while at the same time you need to work and go to school) to figure out how to make BASIC utilities to work that are again basic, is how should i say it in a polite way,....................irrational at best (????).

Just an .avi file man,,,because I wanted to see a video and relax and I didnt want to use Windows, not even for that.

Juuuuuuusst an avi file.

And yeah Ill keep using Linux and denay my self the ease of WinDOS, but,,,,common man, spending few hours each time you want to make something basic work? Pfffffff...Distros cant cut it in the mainstream world if this keeps going on.

And yeah, when I will have the skills. I will devote alot of my time making some BASIC APPS,
make sense right of the bat.

I am well aware that its not Linux's fault. Linux is just the kick *** kernel we all love, but the apps .
Alot of apps (NOT all of them) for Linux are badly writen, as in, hard (with no good reason WHATSOEVER) to make them work as they should.

Again,.....juuuuuust an @#!@$$# .avi file man

vodeo OUT error ...oh what could that be?

maybe you could try switching the video out to one of the other choices using the video tab of mplayers's config utility.
