With all the new Linux+ and RCSE's coming off the assembly lines that study is old news. TCO does not include the drag on the IT community put on it by closed source. See my post on xenix xp.

No, it was believe that they very well could hyave been, though.

Scary thing is, I'm old enough to remember working on a Xenix platform for a short time.

It was actually a rather nasty implementation of the old SCO *nix, which also gave me some heartburn back in the day.

Funny, thing is SCO used to license Xenix from MS until MS sold it to them.

Some people think Xenix parodies are still funny. These stupid people probably wouldn't think so if someone were to remind them that MS sold off Xenix (and their rights to the Unix market) quite awhile back.
