I would like to use Kino to do some digital video editing, but it refuses to load standard video formats like mpeg, mov, and avi.
I tried to use transcribe to convert those formats to raw dv, but could not get it to work. (Hats off to those of you who can understand transcribe on the command line. I read and read and read some more with very little understanding of how to use it.)
Does anyone know of a program for linux that will convert formats of video so I can get them into Kino? It seems like it should be a simple deal, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work.
