Ok, I have a fairly good knowledge of samba, but printing is WAY out of my league. I am running Clarkconnect Linux, which is based on Redhat 7.3. Anything that would apply to that version of redhat would almost certainly apply to clarkconnect. Samba 2.2.8. No GUI at all, editing config files is the way to go, unless someone knows how to do it via webmin
I have four printers, two USB, and two parallel, with the requisite ports availible on my linux server (i.e. yes, I DO have TWO parallel ports installed in this machine). Now, printing locally is not something I need to do. I simply want to do as I have done on my freeco router, and have my server SPOOL data to these printers. All drivers are installed locally on each client (Windows) machine, and they will generate the appropriate RAW format for each printer. I just need to get these files over to the server, take the strain off each client, and then have the server send the files to the printer as the printer can handle it.
I have been unable to figure out how this is done. I have CUPS installed, and would prefer, if at all possible, to skip trying to get them to print from Linux. That will never be a goal of mine, at least not in the near term
I have:
HP Deskjet 610CL (lp0)
Canon BubbleJet 200ex (lp1)
Epson C40S (USB)
Epson C40UX (USB)
Any help would be appreciated. If you need more info on my current setup, I will be happy to provide it.
