Ive got a bit of a strange problem here, I use a linux box as the home gateway on an ADSL connection with 4 windows PCs internal on the lan. If I do an adslguide speedtest from one of the win machines my upstream speed is reguarly 244K but if I do the test from the actual linux gateway my upstream is only about 20K. Any ideas would be appreciated

When you're doing this from the gateway, is it telling you the speed it's sending over the internet, or the speed it's receiving from the other boxes? With DSL (correct me if I'm wrong), your download speed is MUCH faster than your upload speed. It might be that your gateway is receiving quickly, but can only send at DSL's much slower pace.
