Or did you want the binary rpms? You can't download them; you need to become a subscriber at Transgaming to get the binaries. Icarus 04-11-2003, 09:41 AM It's not really out...it's a pre-release (for the binaries) Using the CVS it doesn't use the same version scheme as the binaries. CVSs usually go by the date you downloaded it, as these are likely to change more then once a day (bleeding edge release :)) shuzi 04-11-2003, 02:46 PM oh too bad abt the binaries....how do i use CVS?...wat abt apt-get (www.freshrpms.net) ?..its got a wineX version...2.x shuzi 04-11-2003, 03:10 PM what exactly is CVS? Icarus 04-11-2003, 04:58 PM It does stink with the binaries, but they need to do that to protect the code for CD Copy-protection (as most games use). The CVS is Concurrent Versions System (http://www.gnu.org/software/cvs/cvs.html) which is used when there are multiple developers that are located all over the place. It's a centralized place for them to upload their code to, and keep it from messing each other up. You can download WineX from www.transgaming.com and compile it yourself. This is pure source code so it does not include any of the CD Copy Protection code, but everything else is there. CVS of large projects are known to go bad sometimes, developers post thier work without fully testing. If you do happen to download a bad CVS, try again later in the day or the next day, they are very good at fixing it quickly. shuzi 04-12-2003, 02:05 AM Originally posted by mahdi It does stink with the binaries, but they need to do that to protect the code for CD Copy-protection (as most games use). There are native binaries available. shuzi 04-12-2003, 12:41 PM Originally posted by bwkaz As has been posted in your other thread, don't bother with Wine for Quake 3.
