Hayl 04-08-2003, 08:56 PM i tried unpacking the new beta overtop and rerunning the fixinstall sript and it made it so that i couldn't start a new game or load an old one - the menu options were grayed out. i just made a backup of my save games and deleted and started from scratch. Hayl 04-08-2003, 09:01 PM ignore that last post. i just installed from scratch and both new game and saved game are greyed out. grr. i give up 'till they get their sh_t together. can't even browse server list yet. steve301 04-09-2003, 05:19 PM updated to beta4 with 1,2 and 3 previous installed without having to do a reinstall, did you get a good download? edit update: when I try to start the nnw client with nwncleint i can't start new game or load but if I go and cd to nwn and start with nwn it starts and I can load or start new game, this has always worked like this so my questions to you is what command do you use to start nwn? nwnclient, nwn, nwn, dmcleint? I use nwn and it works. mr orion77 04-09-2003, 05:27 PM i saw it was out on their site, great I thought. Read on and knew it was gonna be a major arse to install. if you have any luck, give us a solution. when i install linux again i'll give it a go. hope it goes well. Hayl 04-09-2003, 05:29 PM Originally posted by steve301 updated to beta4 with 1,2 and 3 previous installed without having to do a reinstall, did you get a good download? yep it's borked tho. i may re-download it and reinstall. does it have those options disabled for you? (load game / start new game) Gaccm 04-09-2003, 06:57 PM so do you just unzip beta4 into the same folder, and it will overwrite whatever to update to the newer version? steve301 04-10-2003, 06:22 AM What I did was download and untar the file in nwn, then ./fixinstall, after that I firedup nwn by cding to nwn dir and starting the game with nwn. ;) mr orion77 04-10-2003, 08:41 AM what about the toolset and custom content.? thats what im concerned with at the mo. steve301 04-10-2003, 10:34 AM checkout openknights they are working on solution to including tools to add new content. justlinux.com
