Mandrake 9.1 and intergal sound on MSI KT7 turbo 2

Hello;
I have just gotten Mandrake installed on my system the main board is a MSI KT7 turbo 2 mainboard with integral sound card.
I was getting no sound !! and checking the os did see the card and loaded the driver (snd via 82 xx) but no go.
I tried the driver (via 82cxxx_audio and I have tunes. I hope this helps someone.

almost the set up and had the same problem. got round it like this.

open konsole type aumix&
take of mute adjust till yer hearts content.

just goner listen to some ramones

I would have been trying forever to get the sound to work.

Why would they make the sound muted as default?

No Problem took me a few days.

I have no idea maybe its a feature. lol like solve the problem before u play
