Hello all. I've been wrestling around with this for awhile now and need some expert help. I don't claim to be a Linux expert by any stretch but I'm stumped. I've tried upgrading to the latest gtk but have been unsuccessful. I'm unable to install this latest demo patch. I get the following message:
sh ut2003demo-lnx-2206.sh.bin
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Unreal Tournament 2003 for GNU/Linux Demo 2206...
Second stage unpacker running...
Starting actual installer...
Gtk-WARNING **: GModule initialization check failed: Gtk+ version too old (micro
mismatch)
Can someone point me in the right direction for upgrading to a later Gtk+ version?
Thank you in advance....

Ignore that error. All it would do is use your gtk+ theme for the gui... nothing to lose sleep over :p
If the ut2003 demo won't install, it's nothing to do with gtk+
Post the entire output of running the installer.

When I run the install the license agreement comes up. When I accapt it I then get the Demo Setup program but the Begin Install button is not highlighted. Is there any way around this?

Do you have enough space in whatever partition /usr/local/games is on to install the demo?
The only time I've seen the "begin install" button be grayed out is when there isn't sufficient space. That same screen should have, somewhere on it, the space free on whatever partition you've got selected. You don't have to install to /usr/local/games/ut2003demo, either, they can be anywhere. You might want to browse to a different partition's location in your directory tree.

Under Global Options the Install path is also greyed out. I have plenty of space: 23644MB free.
Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkentry.c: line 490 (gtk_entry_get_text): assertion `entry != NULL' failed.
This is the error I'm logging on my terminal. Any ideas?
thanks in advance...

Just FYI the previous UT Demo worked great until it timed out!

here's a crazy question: do you have the 1080 demo installed already?
