In Linux or you find it for Windows,

md5sum filename.iso

http://www.md5summer.org/

Compare results to md5 files on the ftp server you got iso's from.

Allways check the downloaded files for corruption with 'md5sum'. This will save cd-r's, hair and a few seconds of your life span.

try to burn a cd from the image and select make cd from iso image on the cd-burner menu. if you make a data cd without specifying the source as an image you wont be able to do the installation.
Also insert one of the cd's you jus created in any computer and see if you can open it and read anything from them, or see more than one folder. If not, make a cd from an image file you downloaded again.
