Hi,

I am looking to set myself up with a new system running Redhat 8 or 9. I wish to minimise hardware problems by purchasing hardware that is easy to setup with Redhat. Can anyone give me suggestions of what GFX card, sound card and modem to buy to minimise the pain of an install. Readily available components are obviously encouraged.

Thanks

Azaar

I recommend using the Linksys LNE100TX Etherfast 10/100MB LAN card. It uses the 'tulip' module; it's a peice of cake to get working.

I've had this card for about three years and I've never had a problem in any operating system.

Redhat's website carries a pretty good list of compatible hardware :)
