I have 9.0 installed and runs nice. I am currently downloading the ISO's for 9.1. Are there any major hurdles I need to be aware of before upgrading? (ie, certain upgrade to RPM's and such, install quirks, etc, etc...)

I mean the system is a hobby system with nothing important on it anyways, however I'd just like to upgrade conservatively and not end up wiping the drive and starting over again. :)

Thanks!

Since MDK 9.1 has a new linux kernel, your current installed video, audio, lan, and other drivers for 9.0 may not work and probably needs to be recompiled.

Not sure about the driver thing? but I'm going to be upgrading to 9.1 soon (need the iso's). A new kernel compile does't neccessarily mean the driver 'modules' need to be upgraded.

Mandrake has surprised(impressed) me before. The upgrade may not be painfull at all!

Should this be just as easy as popping the CD in and letting it go? I woul realy like to NOT have to wipe and go again. I thought when I went from 8.0 to 9.0 there was an option on the install to upgrade the system. Not sure if there is this in 9.1 :)

Depends on your system. For me I'm running nForce1 with integrated nVidia GeForce2MX, nVidia chipset, nVidia LAN, and nVidia sound. Generic sound from ALSA and and generic video from XFree86 gave me the option to install and work the first time. But there is no generic LAN driver. So I had to download the RPMs from nVidia or Mandrake for that. It's a catch-22 since LAN doesn't work in the first place, but I have a dual boot with windows.

See this is my test system so NONE of the hardware is anywhere close to new. I mean it's a 166 P1 for heaven's sake :) I think the newest thing in it is the 20gb Maxotr and the 3Com 3c509B NIC. The NIC was detected by default from the OS. So there really isn't anything exciting on here. My main concern is FUBAR'ing something so bad that I cannot get the files off the drive.
