How do I set up two modems to connect to...

How do I set up two modems to connect to two different dialups yet still act as one connection (e.g. not pulling the same thing from both as in 112k
vs 56k) i really need the speed but nothing faster that dial up is availiable in my area. I was able to do it in my win95 days but not with redhat 8.0
