Updating kernel

I'm using 2.2.16. I'm going to upgrade to 2.4.20. There are two files. one says patch and is about 3.9x mb. The other is 21.60 mb. Both are under 2.4.20 kernel. Which one do I use. There at www.kernel.org.

You need the full kernel (2.4.20) download. Check here first before doing anything.
