Hey all, I am looking into servicing MACs aswell as PCs, and was wondering if someone could recommend a good book on mac hard ware. Also, a reference for the mac's processors (g3, g4 etc.). I know nothing about macs, and would simply like to learn about them. Any help would be appreciated. I hope I posted in the right forum, sorry if I didn't.

go to maccentral.com, click on forums and lounge, and post a topic asking for service manuals. A buddy of mine hangs out there (I think his screen name is Arturo Bandini), and he has a whole bunch of them. I'll tell him to be on the lookout for you.

Wow!!! That is an impressive manual list. I am a PC guy and didn't know much about MACs, but learned slowly but surely about a year ago.
If I had a reference manual like that, I would have had every question answered for me. But I did find great info on Apple's site, just had to dig through the archives.
My brother wanted the MAC as a dedicated ProTools system for his recording studio. Got an increadible deal on a 9500 for $200.
