Hi folks

I admit I haven't a clue here - I've used windows since 3.1 years -I thought it's about time for a change and I'd try linux - using SuSe 8.1.

My problem is that it hangs before the graphical interface comes up.

On install I had an error that the "glibc" package did not install properly. I retried a few times and same every time.

I've also been reading about possible problems with Rage graphics cards which I have (I have Rage128 PRO (AGP 4X))

Be grateful for any ideas (preferably plain english - I'm not a techie!!)

Thanks

Chris

This may work, turn on your computer and when the grub screen comes up boot into failsafe mode, enter as root and type: SaX2 -l then press enter, this should allow you to configure your monitor (make sure you leave a space between typing SaX2 and -l), when you have finished and you have returned to the shell interface type, reboot then press enter and hopefully you will get a graphic interface.
