Such speed comes at a price. The 2.5.x series of kernels are development kernels, and aren't thouroughly tested like the stable 2.4.x kernels are. It may work flawlessly for you, or it could panic left and right.

If you aren't comfortable using a beta kernel, I'd suggest grabbing the latest 2.4.x kernel and using that instead. If you know what you're getting yourself into, well, enjoy your new kernel ;)

TBH, the newest 2.5---- kernels are fairly stable now..........i've even read that people are encouraged to use them to help iron the last few bugs before the 2.6 release :)

Not that i've tried one myself

I want to do this on my RH 8 system, but how do I go about this process? I want to configure the modules to get NTFS support as well. Is there a tutorial somewhere on upgrading to a 2.5.x series kernel?

Thanks.
