Apache ERROR GRRRRR !!!!

I have check the DOCS & FAQ did all it said, opened up everything in my shorewall config files .... I'm running out of ideas

and you did start the apache daemon?

try searching for the process:

ps -aux | grep apache

Just so you know I get that error even using the apache servers host...

FYI : I'm running Mandrake 9.0, shorewall 1.4, and apache2 ... I think I updated both tring to fix the problem. How do I check that?? does it make a different??? AND SHOULD I UNINSTALL EVERYTHING, THEN REINSTALL ... IF SO HOW DO I DO THAT??? :confused:

HEY I'M GETTING CLOSER

I was reading stuff and noticed I didn't have a .htaccess file in my dir... so I just made a empty one with a editor. WELL, now I can access the pages, with local host, when I try to access it from my network it says The connection was refused when attemting to contact www.phattserver.org:8080 but if I just try to connect using the ip address it works fine.

SO WHAT AM I OVER LOOKING NOW :confused: :confused: :confused:
