Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : How to select ReiserFS during Red Hat install
I have read that Redhat 7.3 and 8.0 support the reisefs. However, when installing either I have not seen it as an option for a filing system. Is there something special I must do to get redhat to format the disk that way or do I need to format the disk with something else first then install redhat on top of it???

You likely need to select 'Expert Mode' when installing to have the option to select ReiserFS.
How did I get in "expert mode"?

You should have the choice at the initial installation screen.
Check the Redhat online installation documentation to verify (since I don't use Redhat myself).

When installing at the boot prompt, type in:
linux reiserfs
Then the GUI install starts, and you'll have the choice of reiserFS inside disk druid.
Hope this helps

FYI... The thread is also over 3 months old.
Good info that davebar posted though...
