ugh, X no screen error

well, every time i start my X server i get a no usable screens (maybe those weren't exactly the words, that or no screens found) error. i can show you my XF86Config, xinit, whatever. but before i do that i wanna see if you guys have any kind of quick fix. i'm using lynx right now and it's a little hard for me to navigate, i'm pretty used to seeing visuals.

You can try reconfiguring your server. You can do this by issuing some of the following commands depending on your distro:

xf86config
XF86Setup
xf86cfg
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

There might be more, not too sure. If none of those work. Check your /usr/X11/bin or /usr/X11R6/bin for the correct commands. If you still have trouble, well search first and then post ;) :)
