KDE or Gnome?

Just another Noob question.

Are there any pros/cons to using KDE over Gnome? Is one better than the other, or is it just personal preference?

Can someone also recommend a cool file sharing program?

It really is personal preference.

For filesharing, your best bets are Limewire and gtk-gnutella

giFT has been blocked out by Sherman Networks, however the entire Fasttrack (Kazaa) network will probably come down soon b/c they leave themselve with the vulnerability of a central server.

My preference out of those two is Limewire, however you need to install java to run it.

Moving to Window/Desktop Managers where you will find loads of previous polls/questions on the exact same topic.
