Dear all,

i am configuring ADSL connection from my PC to ISP.
from the Internet Connection Wizard, i choose xDSL, then, later i just follow the wizard to complete the configuration. i select "Statically set IP address" in the xDSL configuration window, then, i provide the IP address, subnet mask, and the gateway address.

After that, i activate the device. but, just within a second the word "activate" turns into "deactivate". Also, i cant ping to the ISP from my PC.

Please give me some comments on this. Thanks a lot!

Cheers,
yenonn

Umm... yeah... we're going to need a bit more info. For one, which distro and version is this?

For another, are you sure your ISP has assigned you a static IP address? Or should you perhaps be using PPPoE or PPPoA? Or DHCP?

What happens when you try to ping? What's the error message you're getting?
