Ok, i'm the type of guy who wants to get involved with everything involving with computers. I've been raised on the PC platform, currently have a self built PC desktop that i've been using Win XP with multiple different distro of Linux as well, Mandrake right now is my fave. I recently came into some money and have always like the look and feel of Mac OS X and the constant nagging by friends to get a Mac, so i bought an iBook.
My quesiton is how easy is it to network my iBook with one of my linux distro's and how easy is it to install a linux distro on the iBook without messing with OS X. so on
Any advice or words of wisdom wiould be awesome

Best install guide for Linux and iBooks (http://people.debian.org/~branden/ibook.html)
It just so happens to be for Debian ;) Seriously though, I know at least 3 people who have used this (I even helped one through it, since his was a bit different, a Powerbook G3 (Pismo)) and said that it went off without a hitch and that they are loving their Debian systems. Two of them dual booted (the friend I helped has since given up his Powerbook, the other one still dual boots), and one has it as a Deb only system.
Networking them shouldn't be a problem. Networking it with OS X ... I don't know. But when you are in Linux it shouldn't be a problem at all.

not that it matters at this time as you have probally done something by now but mandrake makes a distro for PPC, and if you like mandrake already well then you don't have to learn something new if you don't want to yet.

I've got to tell you, I've been messing around with Debian for the last three days trying to get x configured and it just isn't happening. I really wanted to run a more stripped down version of Linux on my iBook but I'm getting tired of this self abuse. Guess I'll try YDL and/or Mandrake as people say they're a bit easier to install. Will inform when done.
