hi just installed rox filer 1.3.2 but when you run it, it gives you like an open desktop windows (which is what it is), but i saw someone's desktop (think it was hayl's), that it appears as icons(sort a like desktop icon on windows), how to do that?

You have to start it with a pinboard.
I think it's like this:
rox -p=foo (or whatever)
or
rox --pinboard=foo
It's in the doc anyway.

thx...--pinboard=[name] works.
but it can only display one folder (home)
where if i use rox -top=[name], it'll display home and apps on the top panel.
why is that?

oh btw, when i run rox -p, it overrides my previous desktop.
(i can't get the fluxbox menu by right-clicking, and it uses the default solid background set by flux)
i want rox to run as pinboard but still can access fluxbox menu by right clicking and can still use the image i set by bsetbg.
is there anyway to do that?
thx

Go in Rox options, there is a setting to avoid Rox to grab the clicks on the desktop.

In the current version, 1.3.7, the option you want looks like this:
