Hello, I'm here with another problem.

If i put in a music cd, and open up XMMS, all the tracks are shown, and if i click play the counter will even go up. I know this isn't a system-wide problem because i have sound in all other sound programs (games, GAIM, etc.).

Anybody have any idea what's going on?

first off, make sure that the XMMS volume is up. sounds stupid but stuff like that happens. another thing is to go under the prefrences/options and make sure xmms is using the driver that your soundcard uses OSS/ALSA.

im at work right now using windoze so im trying to help by imagining this stuff in my head. sorry in advance if i miss sumthing

also can you play mp3's with xmms and hear the or is it just with playing CD's

Well, my volume is at max right noe, so thats not a problem. I went into preferences and tried clicking/aplying all of the available output plugins to no avail. I'm not sure which one I should use. I'm on a generation 1 (clamshell) iBook w/o firewire if that helps.

I had a similar problem and posted about it some months ago. Your answer might be found here:

Hope that helps :) .

Well, I tried all that, and still no music. Any more ideas? This is really a pain.
