Hi folks,

I'm slowly building my own Linux box for the first time (my guide is downloadable from pcpowerandcooling.com). My purpose is to learn hardware, learn the Linux OS and play some of the OpenGL games (UT2003 and Doom 3). My question is coming up with a proper hardware solution. My thinking is: p4 2.4, ASUS p4t533-c, 512mb of RAMBUS (Kingston), Radeon 9700 pro video card. What do you folks think of this solution? Would you change anything? Why? Will the Linux OS have a problem with this particular set up?

Thanks again for all your help!

CPU/mobo are O.K, the built-un sound or LAN might not work at first. Check your videocard against the hardware compatibility list at your distribution's website.
