Modem Issues

Hi. I just installed an US Robotics 56k external modem to replace a Lucent winmodem in my system. I took the winmodem out.

While using Debian 3.0r0 and KDE 3.1, the modem seems to run then pause for a few seconds. I don't think it did that with the winmodem, but when I'm online and using the console, it doesn't have the pause.

Any suggestions?

If mdwatts gets hold of you he'll send you to the "Help File Library" on the right hand side of your screen. (of course I would never do such a thing :D) Look under 'more' for modems.
