I tried about 5 programs for the Rio500 tonight and found out that I am either in need of many packages or they just don't run.

My question is: Is there an program in and RPM format that I can install, with a GUI interface, that will let me use my Rio500? Please let me know.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

tss

http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=rio500 from rpmfind.

Is that what you are looking for?

Actually, that is one I installed. It formatted my Rio just fine, but it can not add any folders or files. I think my Rio500 has seen its final days. Its been abused for over two years ... really abused. I am thinking of getting a new Rio with 128K memory. That should work.

Plus, I finally got WINE working. I have to configure it a bit more, but I should be able to get Music Match working ... I hope ... and that will probably be able to send files to any MP3 player I decide to use ... but that's a whole new story and will quite possibly be a new thread in the future. (WINE is working on a fake Windows setup ... I will not let Windows touch my machine.)

I have also tried Krio, Grio and some others, and they all tell me I need between 3 to 7 libraries of which I do not have. I found most of them, but some of those files state that I need libraries and files. It is really irking me. All I want to do is find a GUI based program to run my MP3 player that doesn't tell me I can't install it due to the above reasons.

Thank you for the help. I am hoping I can get the Rio500 program to work tonight. But, I think my Rio500 finally died.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

tss

Sorry as I have no idea how the RIO500 is accessed. Do you mount the device as other filesystems?

Try searching Google for Linux ( www.google.com/linux ) for i.e. 'rio tutorial' or 'rio guide' and see if you can find documentation to help.
