I have a USB Universal Reader from Lexar, which can read CompactFlash, SmartMedia and (I believe) other cards as well. I searched JustLinux forums and attempted the solutions to get it up and running to no avail... I enabled usb-storage module and followed the instructions to the letter.

When I used the USB Viewer, the Reader was detected as an "unknown device" and the following was posted... I don't know how to read this, so I really need someone to help me decode it:

I believe these flash cards also require scsi emulation as they are accessed using /dev/sda#.

Do you have the necessary scsi emulation modules loaded? scsi_mod, sr_mod etc.?
