Linux.Org (http://www.linux.org/lessons/index.html) has some pretty decent info in their "Courses" section. That might get you started.

You can also Google (http://www.google.com) on "linux tutorial." That might turn up stuff.

My suggestion is what worked for me: buy a book. When I dove into Linux, I did it with the Red Hat Linux 7.2 Bible. I think I ran across it on Amazon.com on sale. Got a mule-choker of a book and the distro came "free" with it. It will walk you through all the basics and some of the more detailed points. It doesn't have it all (like the title "Bible" would seem to imply), but it's a very (!) good starting point. They have the Red Hat 8.0 Linux Bible out now. If you have the spare pounds, maybe that would work for you.

You should have the how-to's/faq's/admin guides installed with your distro.

Have a look in /usr/share/doc

You also may have a 'documentation viewer' included with your distro that makes it easier to locate all of the above and allows you to search the documentation for keywords.

Search Google for Linux ( www.google.com/linux ) for

<topic> tutorial

<topic> guide

and you should find lots of docs.
