I have a simple question. What the hell is the advantage to be gained by porting Gnome and KDE into windows.??? All it does is improve Windows and helps to keep computer users on Windows for Microsofts benefit. Seems like a lot of hard work but misguided nevertherless. How about using your talents, time and effort to help the (I am sure overworked and dedicated) Gnome and KDE teams in their great work. I am sure that would have more benefit to the LINUX world.

i agree to about 99% of your philosophy, that part i don't agree with is when OpenSource builds free software for Windoze it can take userbase from M$FT, such as- instead of some Windoze user paying almost 500 bucks for M$_Office they can get OpenOffice free. and other similar alternatives, sure i rather see more people leave windoze completely too, but not everyone is going to dump windoze that quick and windoze is here to stay for a while so the more OpenSource alternatives are out there the more it can chip away at M$FT's monopoly...
