Check out the I Called It Forum (http://www.icalledit.com/forums/index.php?s=&referrerid=97) run by the Sensei, the origional owner of this site when it was linuxnewbie.org and not owned by internet.com.

It runs on Linux, to keep this on topic. http://www.icalledit.com/forums/images/smilies/undwech.gif

OMG! OMG!

I was here (under a different nickname...*cough*) when Sensei was the owner and manager of this website. Things have sure gone downhill since he left...

I think I may start lurking at his site now. I'm sure he wouldn't mind having an old LNO geek over there. ;)

Sensei -- a name almost lost in the mists of time. Legend has it that he founded the mighty nation of LNO, which stood anciently on the website now occupied by JustLinux and guided English-speaking newbies everywhere on a safe path to enlightenment. During my early training I heard numerous stories of this great figure, who had apparently fled into hiding shortly after his lands were settled by Internet.com. Many grasshoppers lamented his passing, especially during the long dark age when site maintenance was at a minimum, and the saying went abroad that "if only Sensei were king, everything would be alright!"
Despite numerous greps and requests, he has not chosen to reveal hiself on LNO/JL during my linuxtime, though like Elvis before him, there have been many rumoured sightings elsewhere. Perhaps he prefers to trust to his faithful followers the awesome task of maintaining the community he created.

You must have just missed him then - I definitely remember reading the last posts from Sensei about the time I signed up.

I know that /dev/random has been changed but where is the documentation on this, the only thing I have seen are posts about people that are unhappy about it, or indifferent as the case may be. So I am really only asking out of curiosity. By the way, I say good riddance to the old /dev/random policies, It was eventually going to give me an early heart attack. I rather not be spammed by political and religious views when all I want to do is answer or ask some linux questions...This is good so as it does not turn into usenet. even the debian lists get this stuff.

The announcement on /dev/random was posted a few days before the new rules were put into effect.

Well, let's just say that most of the stuff I previously posted here (the stories, fictional manifestos, the wild claims about important people, the outbursts against religious and social things, petrification rays, etc.) would now not be permitted. It's almost like they are deliberately trying to suck the life out of this forum... :(
