over all how many pcs have linux on em compared to windows? i always wondered like the people i know in the real world meaning offline.(not that online aint real but u know what i mean). but all the people i know not one uses linux .lol maybe i need new freinds:) but back to my question what percantage a folks uses linux comapred to winblows. the reason i ask is i wonder if it will ver be main stream so hardware will be more comaptable and drivers put out as fast as windows machines i miss my bi monthly driver ujpdates for my video cards sometimes.
Windows is on more than 90% of the world's computers. Linux is less then 5% (not sure though).

well out of the three computers that i own, two of them have Linux on them ???

I'd probably say more like 98% or more Windoze.
Just about everyone has a desktop Windows machine these days and M$ is only getting richer.

what kills linux is it aint as user freindly. things aint even the same from distro to distro .but i do find linux more stable.i mean installing a driver in windows is 10 seconds instaaling a driver in linux .i follow instrutions word per word and no go. usaaly because of depencies i guess.but i agree once you have linux setup youre golden!!!redhat 8 mandrake 9,evil linux.and jamd are my favs jamd being the leader.peanut was nice to.:p by the way im not takeing a shot at linux far from it.i realy enjoy useing it. so dont flame me lol

Last I heard, Linux was grabbing some of the market share from windows, I also read recently in a magazine about a paper (sponsered by M$) that said winblows was the best OS for almost everything (it lost out to Linux in the web server stakes)
Since this paper, alot of people have said that alot of what it says is utter tripe :D
