Hi folks,

I am trying to set up privoxy for a company lan proxy server and i have run into a problem...

all the workstations (windows based) are currently using a ISA server and are configured to use it through a specified ip and port...

i thought i could make a privoxy server to replace it...

I am running Red Hat 8 and have installed privoxy off the installation disks...

The machine has one network card with a static ip, for example say 198.162.12.1

i can get privoxy to run up fine and with default settings, ie listen-address 127.0.0.1:8118 and set the web browser on the red hat machine to to look at 127.0.0.1:8118 it works fine...going out through a 10mb line...

but when i change the listen-address to the one cofigured on the workstations...ie 198.162.12.1 then it just slows right down...both the worksations and the red hat machine take ages to access any page on the net...

am i doing it right, by makin the listen-address the same as the network card ip???

if so then what am i missing???

all the dns entries and gateway are currect so im just lost really :-/

any ideas???

thx
