On certain .ogg files there are a number of small pops and clicks. I ripped them from perfectly good CDs using grip. Could the pops be related to what I was doing on my computer? Most of the time all I had open was grip and Folding@Home, however I did use mozilla a few times. Is it possible that mozilla was using a lot of CPU power causing the encoding process to be screwed up? Thanks for any help.

Using mozilla can't do anything to the encoding process except slow it down a little.

Do the glitches happen at the same point in the music everytime? If so then probably it's a bug in the player or encoder.

Yep it seems to happen at the same point in the song everytime. I'm using XMMS but the few .mp3s that I have play just fine. Although I didn't encode these my self.
