mandrake9.0 update

I am going to install 9.0 soon, and have never used the update feature. Are there any 'problems' I should be aware of? I thought of doing a minimal install, then do the update, then DL the software I need. Is this the best way or is there something else I should do?

Any help/info appreciated...

I have installed mdk, (about 3 times now) and i have had no problems with the update feature. But if you are using dialup, i wouldnt recommend it, its would take quite a while, it does with my cable connection. But you do want to know a bit about ftp and server programs since you have to choose updates on a per itme basis and some only give a vaigue discription
