I am going through my last test install and config and trying to load the lastest version of Samba. When I try to install it it gives me a list of all the dependencies that are missing and need to be installed. Do I need to find each one individually or is there a way to install all of them at one time?
thanks

That depends on your distro. If you are using Debian, Gentoo or Mandrake this can be done with their package management tools. If you use RH, you can download and install apt from freshrpms.net that can do this for you. What are the dependencies? There shouldn't be too many for samba.

I am using RH
All of the dependencies are lib files:
libc..
libacl..
libssl..
libcrypto..
When I try to install some of these there are even more dependencies.
I will look on freshrpms.net
thanks

Have you tried : http://www.rpmfind.net/
I have found that sometimes a long list of dependencies are really just sub-files of a larger library file. When you install the main file, you get many of the others in the list. Rpmfind has html files that list the contents of the rpms on the search result page for your particular search. I'm very green and this site has been a blessing to me.

You may find some or even all of those library rpm packages on your Redhat installation cd(s).
