i am new to linux i just got a computer to test my first linux on. and i chose mandrake 8.2 because i heard it is easy to install. So first thing i dod was go get an .iso to make myself the mandrake disc im not sure if i am doiung the right thing but i set the computer to boot from cd rom but i doesn't recognize it so it goes to my a: . I can't find a floppy boot disc for mandrake if there is one . There is probably a very eay solution to my problem and im just blind somehow but if you know pleasre help me.

P.S since i am new to this i will probably have many questions about this so if there is anyone who has msn or aim that could be kind of a guide for me through the installation process then i would really appreciate it my msn adress is pain_is_an_illusion01@hotmail.com

and my aim handle it DeViLiSH FeTuS

i would keep posting in here but i'd prefer someone that i can get instantresponses from like a one on one chat with someone who9 knows what thier doing just to guide me through the installation.

Did you check your MD5SUMS on the .iso(s) before burning them?

My guess is that your cd is corrupt
