hI ALL,

I have a system that has both LINUX(Slackware 8.1) with GNOME and WIN 2000 installed in it.

Yesterday I installed a 56kbps internal modem in that system. I am a newbie to LINUX. I just wonder how to install the LINUX driver that I downloaded from Internet.

I would really appreciate if anyone of you detail the steps that I need to do to configure this modem.

Thanks,

Taurian.

Try this http://walbran.org/sean/linux/linmodem-howto.html

Hi All,

I used some of friend's recommendations to configure a MODEM.....by looking @ cat /proc/pci and noting down its IRQ and port info. and typing another command entering the same info. in diff. manner....

let me break down the problem,

the modem is a 56HP PCI V.92 MODEM and if i try to do the above steps and start PPP utility in SLACKWARE 8.1,

it says, the modem device couldn't be INITIALIZED.

Could anyone help me out in this REGARD.....
