RH 8.0 and Gnome - Moving around with windows

I´ve installed nvidia drivers for my Geforce 4 ti 4200 128Mb, and i´ve found that when moving a window through the desktop it doesn´t move with smoothness. This only happens when using Gnome, bacause if i try using Kde it flies like a rocket. Is there any configuration that i can alter in order to reverse this processs.

I had this problem too, and the only solution I could find was to downgrade and use the previous release of the Nvidia drivers. The newest version gave me trouble. I could never figure out why though, or if there is another solution.

on my setup both drivers are equally slow for 2D...
