I had a previous thread for a faster linux, people suggested gentoo, could you all of you give your opinion? that will help me?
Obviously what I want is a fast system. With red-hat I got a slight improvement than MS windows, but frankly not what I was expecting with all that i have heard in the past. Now, either I am still to much newbie, which is true, but I have try some tips, SO, any suggestions about GENTOO?

Just to help you get started.....i run both RH & Gentoo. Gentoo is way faster than RH........don't get me wrong i like RedHat but Gentoo is the fastest distro i've tried ;)

It's worth trying but you have to compile everything, which can take along time, but things are then optimised for your hardware. But it's not just that, with Gentoo, you install it and configure it therefore you decide what runs on your system. You won't have lots of daemons running in the background that you don't need. Gentoo's fun and extremely clever but it will take more of your time up than RH. You will learn loads too :D
