plea for GDM help: Waimea

I use GDM for graphical logins. I have installed waimea. HOW DO I start it !? All that I can learn from my search of the forum is that I am dumb or something. I want to be able to start any of my window managers, not just Waimea, and I want it to work. can any one here tell me how to do this?

so when you type startx at the prompt you get waimea to launch? but you want to be able to selct other window managers i'e kde gnome or blackbox am I correct? or do you get an error when you type startx?
post back with the info I asked for & I'll try to help further BTW what distro are you running?

Mandrake 9.0, I use a graphical login, (init 5) called KDM, the GDM in the last post was a mistake. I want to be able to work with other window managers, that is why I use a graphical login. And the fact that I am a n00b. I have Waimea installed, and need to know how to make it appear in the dropdown box in KDM.
(So that I can select it.) I would also like to install fluxbox, can someone help with that also? I can get it installed, but I cannot alter KDM to let me use it, because I don't know how.

did you by chance install kde? if so take a loo at this link http://tldp.org/HOWTO/KDE-GUI-Login-Configuration-HOWTO-3.html
it should explain how to modify kdm to add menu entires . Did you do a standered install of mandrake? I ask because this should have setup kdm with all of your installed window managers listed for you. if you do'nt have kde installed you will need to configure xdm (x desktop manager)

P.S I have never installed black box, so I don't know how much help i would be with that
