I am still trying to network through linux using samba, cannot figure out what I am doing wrong, have a windows network work fine three pc's printer hooked up to my hub, the other two comp, can access the net, put cannot print when I am on linux, they have to wait till I shut down linux, I go to mandrake control center \ printers nothing comes up to install new printer, or add printer, I can see the other comp, when I do a smbclient -L hostname, I can also see my icon of a computer on another windows machine in network neighborhood click on it and it shows me the name of the computer and samba server 2.2.7, when the password window comes up I type in the passwd I setup in samba and nothing, says wrong password, what ever names I have setup in the windows network, and the linux\samba setup have to be the same? what I mean is do I have to have the same name and passwd for my linux login and samba and windows on all three computers, what am I doing wrong, please advise or talk me through the steps or my wife is going to shoot me for spending so much time on the computer, help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you haveencrypt passwords = yes in smb.conf?

if the above doesn't work, PM me and we can hash out your smb.conf file. i am pretty new to this all, but i have everything up and running in Mandrake 9.0.
