Hi.
I have realvnc installed on my windoze98 box and my RH8.0 box. I run vncserver on RH. I run vncviewer on my 98 box. I get asked for the :x to connect to, give this and enter the password. ALl I get on the screen is a large windoze window with a small terminal window. I assume I have done something wrong as I think I should be able to see my RH desktop(?). I do not have a screen connected to the RH box at the moment, hence vnc solution. What have I done wrong? I have tried startx, just get all sorts of error messages, can't remember what they are, the boxes are at home and I am not! Pointers as to where else to look please as the docs in vnc don't appear to cover this issue.

ANy help would be appreciated.

I would hook a terminal up to the 'nix box to see if you have a screen on that one first.

I can use the RH box OK with a terminal connected. This is what's confusing me. When I log in I am logging in to kde no problem. What is there that says "user x should see Gnome and user y should see KDE"?
