can someone tell me how to setup my printer with samba without webmin or swat, or is it easier with one of them,or do I go to mandrake control center. tried to setup the printer at the linux install and it didn't work, my printer in windows works through a hub d-link 704p, what settings do I have to look for or setup,
please advise.

well, I'm a little confused on what you are trying to do here. This is actually a network printer? If so, then use the printer configuration tool for mandrake, don't know what is since I don't use mandrake. It should allow you to put in the ip address for the printer and tell it that is is a jet direct or lpd print server.
if you want it to show up as a samba shared printer the the following should be in your smb.conf
# if you want to automatically load your printer list rather
# than setting them up individually then you'll need this
printcap name = /etc/printcap
load printers = yes

yes it is a network printer works with the windows network but I cannot see or it doesn't come up for me the mandrake config, for a printer I know what your talking about, becuse it was there but now is not. when I do a nmap -sT I get a 515/tcp open port printer, is this the printer on my hub and the port it is connected to, again my printer doesn't work when I am in linux, have to reboot to windows to have it work, from any pc on my network.
