I have a basic windows peire-to-peire network setup here at my place. nothing fance, and no servers.

I have a part time linux box that i'm trying to learn.

so is it posible to connect my linux box to the windows network with out having to do anny major changes? (ie, setting up a DNS server)

oh, my linux box isn't running all the time, so it wouldn't work too well for a server. and i don't have an extra copy of winNT laying around.

is this even posible or am i dreaming?

not simple...but doable.
Search google or search this site for how-to's on Samba - that's the utility that lets Linux communicate in Microsoft's native networking language, smb.

You'll have to configure only your Linux computer, so nothing major.
